Do you offer one-way car rentals?
Yes. One-way hires are our speciality and can be arranged between any of our branch
locations, subject to availability. We do not charge extra for one-way hires.
Can I use my overseas drivers licence?
Yes. However, if your drivers licence is not printed in English you will need to
arrange for an International Drivers Licence. You must be over 21 years of age to
hire a rental car in New Zealand.
Can you guarantee that there will be no hidden car rental costs?
Yes. All our car rental rates include GST (new zealand sales tax), unlimited kilometres,
and full insurance with a low excess/deductible of $1000. All extra items such as
ski/snowboard racks, and snow chains are affordable. New Zealand
touring maps and guides, and services/features such as hotel and airport pickups
and drop-offs, one-way hires, child seats, and AA roadside assistance being free of charge.
What happens if I need to cancel the booking or return my car rental early?
If you return you vehicle earlier than expected then no refund applies.
We require at least 48 hours notice of cancellation. If you do not advise us that
you wish to cancel your booking then we reserve the right to charge you a 20% cancellation
fee.
Do you charge for additional drivers?
Definitely not. When you pick up you car rental you can add as many drivers to the
rental agreement without incurring any additional charges.
Can I pay for the car rental by credit card?
Yes. We accept Visa and Mastercard.
What is the cost of collision damage waiver (CDW) insurance?
For hires of 4 days or more the cost of CDW is $10 per day. With this cover, the
insurance excess is reduced from $1000 to nil.
Do you offer after-hour car rental pickups and drop-offs?
Yes, subject to prior arrangement and agreement. For after-hour pickups, we requires
the customer Rental Agreement to be signed and pre-paid in full at least 24 hours
prior to pickup. Apex does not charge an additional administration fee for after-hour
arrangements, however airport parking charges may apply.
Do you charge a bond?
No. We do not charge a bond provided the hire is secured or paid for by credit card. If you are unable to supply a creditcard a bond of up to $1000 may be required at the start of your hire. This bond can be paid by cash, eftpos or debit card.
