Please Note: It is highly advisable to pre-book at least your first night's accommodation. We provide you with a freecall number to do this once your holiday package is confirmed.
Payment in full is required to fully confirm your South Island Roadtrip holiday. Payment must be made online through this website. We accept payment by Visa and Mastercard only. (ie We do not accept payment by American Express or Diners Club)
Once booked, your South Island Roadtrip holiday is non-transferable and non-refundable. We strongly advise that you arrange Travel Insurance to cover the risk that your travel plans are unexpectedly disrupted.
All holiday prices for couples are based on two people occupying a studio room and drivng a single vehicle. If you are on holiday "solo" then you will be charged the "total holiday cost", and not the "per person rate". If there are three people in your party, then please book a foursome or family deal, rather than a deal for couples. All family and foursome deals include the shared use of a single vehicle. and two studio rooms.
Your Go Kiwi pass entitles you to stay at bronze, silver and gold-rated accommodation. If you wish, you can use your pass to stay at Platinum and Platinum Plus-rated accommodation by paying an "upgrade supplement". This is paid direct to the hotel, upon arrival. If you are interested in doing this, please discuss this with Go Kiwi Central Reservations.
Your Golden Chain pass entitles you to stay at blue and gold-rated accommodation. There are no upgrade options for this pass.
In the event that you are not able to use all of your accommodation vouches due to property unavailability, then Go Kiwi/Golden Chain Central Reservations will refund you these nights on a pro-rata basis. We strongly advise that you pre-book your accommodation as soon as you can, as during peak holiday periods, accommodation is often in short supply.
The owner of the credit card used to pay for your South Island Roadtrip holiday must be at least 21 years of age, hold a current full drivers licence, and be a member of your touring party. ie your holiday is not permitted to be paid for by someone who is not going on holiday with you. This same credit card must be presented when you check into your accommodation and when you pickup your rental car.
Debit cards are not an acceptable form of payment for your South Island Roadtrip holiday.
You will be able to check into your pre-booked accommodation any time after 2pm. If you plan to check in after 7pm, please ring ahead to make sure that the property owner is aware of your plans. Check out time is 10am. If you require a late check out, please discuss this with your property owner, as a late check-out fee may apply.
We strongly advise that you plan your holiday accommodation choices carefully, as once booked, these arrangements are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Your rental car will be supplied by either Apex Car Rentals (for Christchurch Airport and Queenstown Airport pickups) or by Avis/Budget Rent a Car (for Dunedin pickups). Optional extensions to the Standard Loss and Damage Cover will be offered to you when you pick up your vehicle. This additional cover is completely optional, but highly advsiable, as it substantially reduces your liability in the event that your rental car is damaged whilst on hire. The cost of optional cover is paid direct to the rental car company.
You need to be at least 21 years of age and hold a full licence (ie not a probationary or provisional licence) to be a registed driver on your car rental agreement. More than one driver can be registered to drive your rental car, however, for Dunedin pickups, an additional driver fee will be charged. You will need to pay this direct to the rental car company.
For Christchurch and Queenstown pickups, no Airport fees apply. However, for Dunedin pickups, an Airport/Premium Location fee will be charged by Avis/Budget Rent a Car. During normal branch opening hours (7:30am to 7:30pm) Apex offeres a free shuttle service between the Airport terminals and it airport branch. This is located 5 minutes away. At Queenstown Airport, Apex is located inside the terminal building.
